Welcome to Plattsmouth Elementary School and the 2016-2017 school year. The Plattsmouth Elementary School serves approximately 500 students in grades K-4. The school’s goal is to foster, Academic achievement, positive Behavior, and Civic engagement, in a caring and safe environment..

The core curriculum is centered around mathematics, English language arts, and writing.  Students have the opportunity to explore their world through social studies and science study. Students also are provided time for art, music, physical education, and technology classes weekly.  Plattsmouth Elementary is proud of its strong focused learning programs that include Special Education, Response to Intervention program for reading, English Language Learners, and a High Ability Level program.   Technology is an important tool that is used in educating our students.  Each grade level has a computer cart and iPads to use as additional learning tools to help enhance personalized student learning.

The elementary school’s highly qualified and caring staff strives to help each student develop, emotionally, socially, and physically in a positive, safe, and respectful environment.  Plattsmouth Elementary School utilizes data to help build, guide, and reflect on instruction.  We believe this process not only helps students to succeed, but enables teachers to improve as well.

An integral part of helping your child to succeed is to be involved in their education.  There are activities throughout the school year such as, Math night and Literacy night, along with Books and Bingo that will help you as parents learn ways to interact educationally with your student(s).   Volunteering at school or joining the Parent Teacher Organization are additional ways to get involved.

I am proud of the students and staff of Plattsmouth Elementary School and look forward to another successful year.  Please feel free to contact at any time with questions, concerns, or comments.

Educationally yours,
Todd Halvorsen
